Welcome!

Welcome!

All of us on the UBCIA team are so excited to launch the very first Intercultural Alliance at UBC! With students coming from over 140 countries and where over 70 languages can be heard on campus at any given time, one of the greatest strength of this university is its diversity, vibrancy, and opportunities to learn from one another.  At its core, UBCIA wants to celebrate the rituals, traditions, dress and customs that have spanned thousands of years to answer the fundamental questions of what it means to be alive and human in this world. By creating intercultural learning opportunities that build off the inherent strength of a multicultural campus such as UBC, students can learn from one another in amazing ways.

Our website serves as our hub of information. Here, you can find information such as our upcoming events, Alliance members, and contact information. If you are an interested club member, check out our Alliance page and e-mail Karen to find out how you can join the UBCIA. Interested about how UBCIA came to fruition? E-mail our founders Ben or Efua. Have any other questions? Check out our Governance page and e-mail us; we’ll answer it within 48 hours!

What does being an intercultural campus mean to you? We always want to hear your thoughts on how we can make UBCIA better. E-mail Ilana with any feedback! Or if you’re interested in contributing to our blog e-mail Cicely.
